<p><em><strong>Find yourself impulse eating when you feel stressed, lonesome or bored?</strong></em></p>
<p><em><strong>Relying on those sweets to make you "feel better"? How long does that last?</strong></em></p>
<p>This is a common problem, especially for people who are natural Psychic Empaths.</p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;"><strong>Empath?</strong></span> What this means is that you receive information about people, places, things, and events without any verbal or visual cues, by "feeling" them or "just knowing."</p>
<p><em>Sound familiar?</em></p>
<p><span style="color: #008080;"><strong><em>I am one. And if you're reading this, you probably are, too.</em></strong></span></p>
<p><span id="more-430"></span></p>
<p>I grew up believing it was a curse, overwhelmed by others' emotions, thoughts, physical pains - it got to the point several times when I completely lost my identity in the people around me. I was depressed, scared, avoiding people and crowded places. I felt like an outcast imprisoned in my own body...</p>
<h2>Know this:<span style="color: #008080;"><strong> Being an Empath is actually a gift from Spirit (that we can all access) as it is the next level in the evolution of our ability to communicate as a species. #BK2YS</strong></span></h2>
<p>Here's where food comes in: I'd like to share a different perspective on how you, right now, have everything you need to turn the tide on your cravings - by honing your Empathic skill.</p>
<p>Last week we covered how stuffing your emotions with sweets is a symptom of spiritual imbalance, and how every time you eat, you do a form of energywork on your body.</p>
<p>So, if you are doing energywork, you might as well sharpen the saw with one surprisingly simple technique I call Empathic Scanning.</p>
<h2><span style="color: #008080;">Performing Empathic Scanning</span></h2>
<p>Print out or pull up two pictures, one of junk / fast food, and one of raw fruits and vegetables. Then do the following:</p>
<ol>
<li><span style="color: #003300;"><strong>Look at one of the pictures, and hold your right hand over it.</strong></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #003300;"><strong>Then close your eyes.</strong></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #003300;"><strong>With your eyes closed,</strong> <strong>feel/imagine what it would feel AFTER have eaten that food. FEELING THE AFTER IS THE KEY! Concentrate on sensations AFTER ingesting the food.</strong></span></li>
<li><span style="color: #003300;"><strong>Notice the sensations in your body (good, bad, neutral, salivating, bloating, energized, tired, light, heavy, etc.) </strong></span><span style="color: #003300;"><strong>Optional: Write your sensations down on a piece of paper to keep a record.</strong></span></li>
<li><strong>Repeat for the other picture</strong></li>
</ol>
<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>Did you feel that?</strong></p>
<p><strong>Did you notice that there's a difference between initially seeing the image of the food, and how it feels after you've eaten it?</strong></p>
<p><span style="color: #008080;"><em>And also, did you feel how some pictures made you feel energized or even lighter, whereas other pictures made you feel tired or even bloated or ill?</em></span></p>
<p>This is one of the great powers of your Empathic sense - it can tell you ahead of time what the effect on your body will be if you take a certain action, such as eating food.</p>
</div>
<h3><span style="color: #800080;">So, the next time you reach for any food, I encourage you to play with this technique - I personally have used it with great success in transitioning from LOVING meat and cheese to LOVING being Vegan!</span></h3>
<p>I found that whenever I would feel the energy of those foods, I would feel lethargic and bloated - which is how my body actually responds when I do ingest those foods - and used those feelings to help motivate me to stop eating them.</p>
<p>You don't have to go vegan, but you need to listen to your body if are an emotional eater.</p>
<p><span style="color: #008080;"><strong><em>Extra Credit: Take this Tech to the Grocery Store and feel it out! </em></strong><strong><em>You can use this for any decision actually - for example: feel into texting that person you miss versus calling them, and see which one raises your vibration. Go with the one that lifts you up.</em></strong></span></p>

<em>Extreme Gratitude<br />
</em></strong></h3>
<p>Continuing our series on psychic self-defense tech, I'd like to take this week to discuss gratefulness.</p>
<p>Yes the holidays are over and yes Thanksgiving is in November, but believe it or not, being actively thankful is a powerful meditation tool. The reason why is because it immediately raises your vibration.</p>
<p>Feelings of anxiety, depression, anger, grief, and insecurity all have a very low vibration - slowing you down, making you feel heavier or even stagnant or blocked. Gratitude, when done in this way, can lift you out of a rut and get you back to "feeling like yourself" again.</p>
<p><strong>To Practice Extreme Gratitude:</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>Breathing into your belly, hold your right thumb finger and think of (or say aloud) something you are thankful for, then exhale</li>
<li>On your next breath, hold your pointer finger and think/say another thing that you're grateful for or makes you happy, and continue doing this on all 10 fingers, and cycling from hand to hand</li>
<li>Each item should be one person, place, thing or experience at a time. For example: instead of "my family" list each person (including pets!) by name one at a time, one per finger. Or another super beneficial example: instead of "my health" <em>list every body part and organ by name one at a time, one per finger.</em></li>
<li>The more specific you are and the longer you do this, the higher your vibration rises, and the deeper your meditative state and your breathing can become</li>
</ol>
<p>I recommend setting a 5, 10 or 20 minute timer before you begin this exercise, so you can lose yourself in the process.</p>
<p>Fun fact: The finger holding technique comes from another system of natural healing called Jin Shin Jyutsu, and is mixed with gratitude meditation in this practice. This roots the affirmations into your body and deeply relaxes you through a minimalist acupressure massage.</p>

<p>Continuing our series of foundational Meditation Techniques (or "tech"), the Body Scan deepens your <strong>Grounding Visualization (<a href="http://66.147.242.192/%7Evictoti8/?p=245" target="_self">READ MORE</a>)</strong> experience through use of progressive muscular relaxation and mindfulness.</p>
<p><strong>To preform a Body Scan:</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>Take a deep breath (to go inward mentally)</li>
<li>As you exhale, notice how your body feels in general: your posture, areas of tension or stiffness, and areas of warmth</li>
<li>Still breathing deeply, begin to mentally scan over your body slowly, starting with the top of your head, downward</li>
<li>Be thorough; scan every muscle, organ and limb. The more specific you are, the better</li>
<li>With each thing you scan, allow it to feel heavy or as if it was made of water</li>
<li>Continue doing this to the tips of your toes - Extra credit: after this, imagine your hair, clothes and environment around you becoming heavy and liquid too</li>
</ol>
<p>This technique is deeply relaxing, and great for aiding in falling asleep or coping with anxiety such as public speaking.</p>
<p>Students of mine have said they often never finish scanning the whole body because they are fast asleep. 🙂</p>
