<p class="p1"><span class="s1">We're continuing the series, sourced this time around has asked to continue you and I building a deeper relationship and a deeper understanding about certain concepts that come up in our spiritual lives. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><strong>This series is going to be a five week series around the dark side of self-care. Woohoo. I'm so excited.</strong> </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"> I am so excited to bring you to the dark side of self-care. What that basically looks like is self-sabotage. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">Now this first week in particular the guides have asked me to share more of my story. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">I just finished a session with a new client. I'm so excited for her. It's amazing what inspires people to begin their healing journey. She's beginning a new six month healing journey, Sojourner healing journey, which means she's coming in for an hour, a private hour a month for me. She also gets unlimited meditation classes here at the dojo.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"> It's so interesting to hear people's stories of what inspires them to begin to heal. What motivates you to really begin healing. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">It was just fascinating sharing with her some of my story of what caused me to get into all of this in the first place. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Believe it or not, it comes from actually my pain. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;"><strong>Simon Sinek, very beautifully says that your big why comes from your pain more often than not.</strong> </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"> For me, it was a series of three breakups that caused me to break open. The first one was someone that I thought I was going to be with. The whole soulmate situation that you think you have and then turns out sleeping with your coworker and calls you on your wedding day to ask how are you? One. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"> Two, the next one broke me open again because of the color of my skin. He had decided that we couldn't be together because of the color of my skin. That also compounded my perspective. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"> Then unfortunately the third one that really broke me open was when I got date raped. Yes, I'm sharing that with you. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">No, I'm not happy about what happened to me. I honor the fact that these were the events that grabbed my attention that something is not quite right. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"> Now maybe you grew up with a history of abuse or maybe you grew up with alcoholic parents or that sort of a thing. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">Something happened in our lives that forced us to take a stand and say, <em>"Wait a minute. I don't like this. I don't like this."</em> Right? </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">It's those moments where you put your foot down and say, <em>"No more. I'm not going to be beaten anymore"</em> or, <em>"I'm not going to select people who would do these kinds of things to me anymore." </em></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><strong> One of my first spiritual teachers her question to me, that changed my life, was: "what is the pattern in you that's creating this situation?"</strong><br />
</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"> This is where we get into our five week deep dive around self-sabotage. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"> When I look back into those dark times in my life where I would have suicidal thoughts and would be sleeping at around 22 hours a day, only getting up to go to the bathroom and have a sip of water, trying to escape, escape, escape there were things that I was doing to self-soothe that within my compressed mindset I thought were good for me. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;">When you have a compressed, like as in a really limited mindset, bad stuff you can't really tell that that's bad for you. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"> Some of the ways that I used to self-soothe but actually turned out being self-sabotage ... Well, one it was the constant sleeping. Also, I used to chain-smoke Clove cigarettes, the black ones. Like talk about breathing death. Emotional stuffing. I used to live on Twix and Chex-Mix and nothing else except for Captain Morgan's spiced rum and Malibu coconut rum. I remember. I'm so happy that I'm sober now.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"> There's these things that, <em>"I'll just have a drink so that I can soothe"</em> or escape, get rid of this negativity, or, <em>"Let me go have a smoke. Let me cool off."</em> Or, <em>"Let me just check out."</em> There's so many things that we do to soothe ourselves that within a limited and a compressed point of view feel pleasurable and we interpret them as good even though they're working against us.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"> Now there was also another form of self-sabotage I would do at the time. I would work around 12 hours or so a day at a really, really toxic job. Like screaming bosses that were financial abusers as in dangling your pay check over your head in order to get you to do things that are completely outside of your principles. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span style="color: #000000;"><span class="s1">Be kind to yourself if as I invoke the darker side of my story that this is resonating for you like, <em>"Ooh, ooh, I still do some of that, Victoria"</em> ... This is not to say like,<em> "I'm good and you're bad."</em> No. </span></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"> I want you to know that I've been through some things and when I'm going to talk to you over the next few weeks around self-sabotage versus self-care there's some history there. I'm only tapping on the tip of the iceberg here with respect to your energy.</span></p>

My story is my story and it's made me who I am. </strong>Here's the light in the darkness is that when you start self-soothing you can choose to raise the vibration of the forms of self-soothing that you do. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">For example, I remember even when I was still chain-smoking I started learning more about crystals and oracle cards.<em> "Well, you know, maybe this will help me feel better."</em> It was something positive about these cards or I feel the energy when I'm holding this crystal. I don't know what the heck it is. I'm going to get into that in the next few weeks. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;"> That was the turning point. It was following things that brought me joy and uplifted me in the self-soothing cycle. It's natural. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">I want you to know this and watch this in yourself this week. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Watch the way that you soothe yourself, whether it's positive or negative. Just notice how do you soothe yourself when you're feeling bored, when you're feeling depressed, empty, anxious, angry, unacknowledged, lonely, et cetera. How do you soothe yourself? It is positive things? Or negative? </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"> Most of us have a mixture of both. By the way, at the filming of this video I still have some not so good things, such as eating chocolate and ice cream, that is harmful against my body. As well as doing hours of meditation, grounding out in nature, doing reiki. I have a mixture. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">This is called being human. I want us to have a deep dive now for the next five weeks around honoring that self-care versus self-sabotage dance that we're all doing. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1" style="color: #000000;"><strong> I know that you're doing it. If you clicked play on this video chances are you're a natural empath. </strong>You're already sensitive to the energy and trying to figure out how to cope with all this energetic overload. We're going to confront this head-on. </span></p>

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">This is the first of a four-week installment, a brand-new four-week installment on your PRPs. You down with PRP? Yeah you know me. So good. So, this month and for the next four weeks, whenever you are watching this, we're going to be talking about getting you in-tune with your PRPs. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><strong> And this week we're going to talk about why you need to make time for your daily PRPs. And what does PRP stand for? Play, rest, and pleasure. These are three essential minerals in every healthy entrepreneurial little, in every healthy person's life, on a day-to-day basis.</strong> </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">You have gotta get play, rest, and pleasure in your daily life. Now, strategically of course we're going to expand that out on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis, right? In increasing doses. But on a daily basis we want to make sure that we create space for your holistic health, with play, rest, and pleasure.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1" style="color: #800080;"><strong> Why is this important to have daily space for play, rest, and pleasure? Isn't that irresponsible? Isn't that lazy? Isn't that .... What are the? You send me an email back, or a comment below. Tell me what are your inner monkeys saying as to why you can't have your daily PRP time.</strong> </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"> Now, this is not to say that your entire day, every single day is going to be devoted to getting your three essential nutrients, but most certainly on a daily basis we are going to strategically create time and space. Starting now, and for the next four weeks, shall we? Okay. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><strong> So, the reason why your daily PRPs become so important, is because this is your fuel. This fuels you emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. We're going to be covering that over the next four weeks, but this why. Your PRPs as essential nutrients to your holistic health power you. You know life is a marathon. Living your purpose and pursuing your passions is a marathon experience.</strong> </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"> Now, for most creative types we may think, "All right I'm going to ... at the last minute put everything together." Right? You push the clock, or procrastinate, put things off, and until after the fact or until the 11th hour then maybe I might rest. There's the phrase, "I'll sleep when I'm dead." Well, you know what? If you live that way, you will be getting to sleep faster than you think. Right? </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1" style="color: #800080;"><strong> Burn-out is very real, and it doesn't ever have to be an experience of yours, but if it has, this month in particular, and starting this week in particular. We are going to shut that down.</strong> </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"> This is a writer downer. "Burn out may have happened in my past, but it will not happen in my future." #PRP</span></p>

Progressively over time, so that you have creative juices, so that you have the energy to pursue your passions, so that you feel healthy and have a sense of fulfillment in life. You don't have to wait until you're old and retired and can't enjoy life, in order to engage and prioritize your PRPs.</strong></p>

So, for those of you who are single and looking, or single and not looking, remember this is a relationship with yourself, right your inner being. And for those who are in a relationship, remember that this is about your relationship with yourself, and your inner being, as well as your partners or those we are working with.</strong> </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"> Religious factors, your love life is influenced by your religious upbringing and spiritual path. This is where we're going to bring it to at close for the week. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1" style="color: #800080;"><strong> You know, you may have been brought up in a religious, or philosophical, or social system that told you to put others first, to essentially give up your needs, right, to the service of others, right. To give up the pleasures in life, that living in denial of your own sense of play, rest, and pleasure, is holy, or honorable, or like, <em>"Oh you sacrificed for us."</em> Just like this person or these people sacrificed in these stories, according to that religious, or philosophical, or social system that you've been brought up, or psychological system that you've been brought up in, or adopted over time.</strong> </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">With love, I am not saying that you need to like throw that out of the window, that is at your discretion, that's your relationship between you and God, or you and source, or you and your higher self, your inner self. Right? And I would strongly advise you this week in particular to evaluate how your beliefs about your PRPs on a daily basis, play, rest, and pleasure are effecting your health. Is it serving you or hindering you? </span></p>

<p style="text-align: right;"><em><span style="color: #800080;"><b>"<em>How do I meditate with a crystal?</em>"</b></span></em></p>
<p class="p1"><strong>This week, in particular, Source is asking that you get started meditating with crystals. </strong></p>
<p class="p1">What do I mean by crystals?</p>
<p class="p1">There are, of course, lead crystals like the Swarovski crystals and things that are shiny, and pretty. Wonderful to look at.</p>
<p class="p1"><span style="color: #800080;"><strong>But the crystals that I'm talking about, and the crystals Source is talking about, are minerals. Mineral specimens that could be tumbled, or ruff cut, or even particularly shaped. </strong></span></p>
<p class="p1">We have few different crystal specimens here at the dojo, so I want to explain to you why crystals are awesome.</p>
<p class="p1"><strong><span class="s1">First off, they are libraries of healing information. </span></strong></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Picture this. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span style="color: #800080;"><strong><span class="s1">There's a philosophy called stone tape theory, which basically states that all stones are record keepers. They are constantly keeping record of all the energy that they have been exposed to. </span></strong></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Stone tape theory, therefore, explains paranormal experiences, like if you've ever been in a house where at a certain time of the day you start smelling a certain perfume, or cigar smoke, or footsteps start happening repeatedly. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">It's because the natural energy of the house has recorded the emotional and physical life energy that has occurred there.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><strong><span class="s1">All stones, in particular, are capable of doing this, but they also have healing knowledge. </span></strong></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">They're basically the natural computers of the earth. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">If you have a crystal skull, for example, they are the natural internet. (I mean, if you want to take a deep dive on Google go ahead. Crystal skulls, meditation, enjoy.)</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span style="color: #800080;"><strong><span class="s1">Two in particular here at the dojo, two of our crystal friends here wanted to come forward to talk to you. </span></strong></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">This is rose quartz. His name is Pepe. He was a gift, and he's been charging for quite sometime here. Rose quartz. This is a wonderful example of a ruff cut barrel that you could meditate with.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Or down here is Jeff. Now how do my crystals have names? I just ask them and they tell me. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><strong><span class="s1">Pepe and Jeff here wanted to illustrate to you with me how to meditate with a crystal.</span></strong></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">You can simply have one in your purse, or display one on your table, or your desk at work, or your bed side table, etc., to bring more healing energy. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span style="color: #800080;"><strong><span class="s1">Every stone has meaning. </span></strong></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">By the way, this is rose quartz, which is good for the heart. In healing your heart, your inner child, feeling safe. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Jeff here, is fluorite in particular. What he works with is clarity, mental clarity, being organized, disciplined, focused, systems, creating systems, and really staying on your game on a regular basis. He's all about consistency.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">I'm going to hold Jeff in particular. Peppy is down here sending you lots of love. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><strong><span class="s1">When you are meditating with a crystal, what you want to do is: </span></strong></p>

<li class="p1"><span class="s1">You hold your crystal in your hands&nbsp;</span></li>
</ul>

<li class="p1"><span class="s1">You imagine that the energy of that crystal is flowing up your arms. Cycling through with your breath.</span></li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li class="p1">Feeling that energy go through you, and exhaling going back into the stone creating a circuit of energy is one way to meditate with your crystal.</li>
</ul>
<p><span style="color: #800080;"><strong>Another way, and I'm going to use Peppy for this illustration, is to look at all of the facets in great detail. </strong></span></p>
<p>Really allowing your eye to go into all of the different quarks, nooks, and crannies. Perhaps rubbing your finger as well. Your thumb over the ridges activates more of the healing information.</p>
<p class="p1"><strong><span class="s1">Now all of this is to say that spending time with your crystals helps their healing information attune to your aura. </span></strong></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Your aura and their energy begin to talk to each other and harmonize. We are all, all living beings are harmonic. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The same way if you're singing in a choir, it's best to be in tune. Nature does that naturally. She creates harmony. Bring some crystals into your life. Crystal people such as Jeff and Pepe.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span style="color: #800080;"><strong><span class="s1">I'm hearing the oracle cards for the week. </span></strong></span></p>

<p class="p1"><strong><span class="s1">All right. They're telling me to read, in particular:</span></strong></p>
<p class="p1"><em><span class="s1">Concentration, psychic protection, and emotional stability. Fluorite emanates a highly spiritual vibration that can shield you from a negative influence, or a negative person that is causing you to be emotionally imbalanced. Knowing that you are being surrounded by love and light and trust in the protection you are now receiving. Let go of your fears and concerns, and allow this wondrous healing to occur.&nbsp;</span><span class="s1">Start to focus on the things that bring joy to your life. Focus on all you would love to be doing rather than worrying about what others think. You are safe and eternally loved. Nothing can harm you except for your own fears. Trust! </span></em></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Here's where we'll leave off. It's time to bring in some crystal energy to really help anchor your aura, and make you feel more safe and grounded as you continue forward.</span></p>

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">I'm hearing in particular that there has been a lot of self-deprecation, feelings of disconnection, feeling blocked or misunderstood. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span style="color: #800080;"><strong><span class="s1">There's also a lot of negativity outwardly around you as well. </span></strong></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Source wants you to connect to your core, connect to your heart this week in particular because when you are centered, which is all that this is, when you are centered you are better able to respond to life with wisdom, with honor and with a sense of peace and balance.</span></p>

<p class="p1"><strong><span class="s1">I'm going to give you two techniques. We're going to do them together right now for connecting to your heart and connecting to your core.</span></strong></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">One, first and foremost especially if you notice that you're immersed in someone else's thought patterns about you, or if you're coming off of an argument or coming off of a particularly negative environment is wipe it off. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">You know the phrase <em>issues in your tissues</em>?&nbsp;</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><span style="color: #800080;"><strong>Your body is like a crystal. Crystals are record keepers. They record all the energy that is around them.</strong></span> </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">We're made out of silica, so your body is recording all of the emotional energy that she or he comes in contact with throughout the day. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><strong><span class="s1">One simple way to clear it off is wipe it off. Do this with me. </span></strong></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">I'm doing this on camera to do it for you, if you can't move your physical body. Get it off of the legs here. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">This is on behalf of those of you who can't physically move your body, but if you can, wipe if off. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Do you feel chills? Do you feel tingly already? </span><span class="s1">Isn't it amazing how effective that already is? </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span style="color: #800080;"><strong><span class="s1">For one, that centers you because you connect to your kinesthetic sense, your touch sense, to your body, to your center, as well as activate all of that stored up emotion that's in and around you and flick it off, shake it off.</span></strong></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Then two, what I want you to do is take your hands and bend them in, fingers pointing towards your heart. Set them right on your chest. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><strong><span class="s1">Close your eyes and imagine that you could drop your mind and your awareness right behind your fingertips on your sternum. </span></strong></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Don't push in but breathe into that gentle pressure on your sternum. Exhale. Give me two more of those breathing in, using your imagination to see and feel your mind behind your fingertips in your chest. Last one, breathing in. Exhaling. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Hold that position, breathing regularly for the next few moments really sinking into your heart. When you're ready, coming back or stay there. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><span style="color: #800080;"><strong>I'm going to read this week's oracle card for you. It's coming from the Messenger Oracle cards deck.</strong> </span></span></p>

<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><strong>We are all connected.</strong> </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The guides are saying, <em>"Read the book on this one in particular."</em> Isn't that beautiful? </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1"><em>We are dependent upon others for life. We destroy the very things upon which we depend too. If we do, we too shall parish. We are all connected, we are all one. Do harm to the natural world, and you do harm to yourself. You are more than just a part of the human race. You are a child of Gaia, of earth. You are brother and sister to all life and living things. Love them as you love yourself. Sustain them as you sustain yourself.</em> </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Here's where we'll leave off. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span style="color: #800080;"><strong><span class="s1">Connecting to your core helps you connect to that still, small space of oneness within you.&nbsp;The inner wisdom. </span></strong></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">We are all part of that and as you do so, you release a resonant frequency that spreads connection throughout the earth as well. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><strong><span class="s1">We're all sensitive on purpose, and we can feel us in your tribe and you out there can feel that consciousness spreading. </span></strong></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">For those of you that are interested in New Age, metaphysical things, etc, you feel that wave of connection that is out there.&nbsp;Your tribe of light as we call it here at the dojo.</span></p>

<p>But didn't they tell you that having a "nice" place, driving a "nice" car, keeping up with your bills and being "nice" to everyone should make you feel happy and fulfilled? That's the secret, right? WRONG!</p>

<p style="text-align: right;"><span style="color: #800080;"><b>"<strong>What’s the point of it all?</strong>"</b></span></p>
<p><strong>This week’s topic is the secret to being fulfilled in life.</strong></p>
<p>Maybe recently you’ve been working really hard and wondering what it's all for.</p>
<p>Perhaps even, over the last couple of weeks, there's this aching inner sense of emptiness that's been creeping up on you.</p>
<p>Maybe it comes up in the people that you speak to lately, how frustrating it is when they're awfully shallow?</p>
<p><strong>Or maybe are you doing things that don't really resonate with what you stand for or what your vision for your life has always been?</strong></p>
<p>Are you not as far as you thought you would have been at this point in time? Are you not feeling fulfilled?</p>
<p>There's that inner sense of emptiness: the hole, the cave that can gather energetically, as well as even physically, eating away at our tissues, at our senses and sensibilities when we are not engaging what feeds us.</p>
<p><strong>However, the non-receptive way of communicating with Source to write-off these events just "coincidences."</strong></p>
<p>When we are externally driven in life, all meaning, worth, value, approval, acceptance – all judgments are based on what is external.</p>
<p>All actions in this sort of life are therefore based on what is external to us, as a self, a being, a consciousness, a person.</p>
<p>What it would look like if we were living an externally driven life is that, "I am what I can show for," or "I have to keep up with the Joneses because on the outside of me, these people are doing well, or at least their external representation looks showy, and I want to make sure that I'm on par with that."</p>
<h2>Know This: <span style="color: #008080;">Focusing on quality over quantity breeds fulfillment. #happiness #gratitude</span></h2>
<p>The externally driven life is about acquiring larger quantities – of friends, of possessions, of dollars, etc.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #800080;"><strong>Ultimately, the point is to make sure life looks very beautiful: the vision, the appearance and the visual spatial representation of whatever we're encountering in life.</strong></span></p>
<p>But the externally driven life is one that it's not just shallow.&nbsp;There's a little bit more to it than that.</p>
<p>Specifically, the externally driven life is focused on appearances. If you can read this article, you have access to and are living in a society that is primarily externally driven.</p>
<p>The thing is that it’s not all bad. Yes, it’s true! Otherwise we wouldn’t really adhere to this point of view!</p>
<p><strong>In truth, the good thing about being externally driven is that it's motivational.</strong></p>
<p>Yes, it inspires you for more, more, more. However, if your vibration is low, it is good to be externally driven, because it pulls your vibration out of the dumps, or it keeps you from flat-lining energetically and boosts&nbsp;your physical life force.</p>
<p>Developing a dependency on being externally driven is where it becomes problematic is what the angels are saying right now. For example: determining your self-worth according to how many degrees and certifications you have is a slippery slope, because <em>there's always more</em>...</p>
<p><strong>There comes a point in life where we need to be able to decide to enjoy where we are.</strong></p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;"><strong>The other side is being internally driven. </strong></span></p>
<p>Until now, we've been talking about having an externally driven life, which always ends up being not fulfilling. It will be motivational, endlessly.</p>
<p>I mean that positively and negatively at the same time, though. Being externally driven is not the key, not the secret, to experiencing what fulfillment feels like.</p>
<p><strong>Rather than two sides of a coin, these have more of a “yin and yang” relationship.</strong></p>
<p>The symbol of yin and yang is actually turning, because there is light and dark in both, constantly creating universal movement which is good. That actively creates harmony.</p>
<p>Similarly, we can apply this concept to the relationship between being internally and externally driven, in that when you find the active, dynamic balance between the two, you create – and have – harmony.</p>
<p><strong>You can create and have fulfillment.</strong></p>
<p><span style="line-height: 1.5;">And it comes in a sustainable and expansive way, rather than from just throwing up your hands and saying "I'm done!" It's different.</span></p>
<p>But there’s a dark side to being internally driven.</p>
<p>The energy is saying that a good example of being internally driven is going about life by one of my favorite sayings, "What matters most is how you feel."</p>
<p><strong>Being aware of how you feel, being present to the present moment and fully immersed in that is being internally driven in life.</strong></p>
<p>So, the Joneses can have the car, the white picket fence, the expensive toy dog in the purse and the motorcycle/boat flying machine. Fabulous. I don't care because what matters most is how I feel. I'm more concerned with, "Well, am I all right with my house and my frying machine or my toaster oven." Right? Lol!</p>
<p>Well, there's more to it than just being stubbornly self-absorbed.&nbsp;How do you know if you're being internally driven or if you're around other people who are internally driven for the highest good?</p>
<p><em><span style="line-height: 1.5;">You’ll have to watch the rest of this week’s video strategy to find out exactly how!</span></em></p>

<p>It's actually quite easy -- you can even start meditating in just 10 seconds right here and now! That is, you can do it if you change your mindset about what meditation is.</p>

<p><strong>This week, Spirit is asking that we cover an introduction to meditation.</strong></p>
<p>Well it's about time! I can't tell you how many people I've met, not only over the course of doing my work over these last few years, but also even on a daily basis or when I'm out networking to share what we do here at the dojo for more people, who ask me the same questions about this.</p>
<p>So many people are asking, "Well how exactly do I get started with meditation?" "What is it?" "What's the right way?" I shrink, by the way, from that question “What's the right way to do meditations?” Your way is the right way.</p>
<p><strong>Here's why: what matters most is how you feel.</strong></p>
<p>The more you're able to create a healing, peaceful, calm, clear, and confident state within you, the better! It’s essential that you do whatever it takes to get yourself to a space of clarity, confidence, calm and health.</p>
<p>This is&nbsp;my intention that I hold whenever I'm teaching meditation or whenever I'm doing it for myself, doing energy work, or speaking, or sharing: that you find whatever you need to do to get to the space is the right for you.</p>
<p><span style="color: #993366;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">One of the very first techniques for meditation that I learned from my Guides to start sharing with others as well as what I mastered first what I call</span> “The Calm-Down Breath.” </strong></span></p>
<p>Breathwork in general, if you want to Google that, as an approach to meditation is brilliant for stress relief and creating a better space of homeostasis: that calm, clarity and peacefulness that should be a product of a regular meditative practice.</p>
<p>If you're not feeling like you're moving towards a greater state of health and balance, or a greater state of self-awareness and self-acceptance as a result of your meditative practice, you're doing it “wrong.”</p>
<p>I never really say that, but in general if what you're doing isn't increasing the good in your life, or bringing you closer to who you really are, then stop. Just stop!</p>
<h2>Know This: <span style="color: #008080;">If what you're doing right now isn't increasing the good in your life in some way, then stop. Just STOP! #focus&nbsp;#selfcare</span></h2>
<p>If you're in a meditation class that makes you feel inferior, or if you're in a presence of someone who makes you feel less of yourself and more of them, and the “them” that you're becoming isn't a reflection of who you really are and isn't resonating, put the brakes on it!</p>
<p><em><strong>That's the type of permission that we need to create in our own selves: that <span style="color: #993366;">if this isn't increasing my joy, if this isn't bringing me more love, if this isn't expanding my horizons I am free to go.</span></strong></em></p>
<p><strong><em>Spirit really wants you to know that the purpose of meditation is to bring love to your mental “dragons” or “monkey mind” of fear and people-pleasing.</em></strong></p>
<p>The act of meditating is coming into your inner space mentally and emotionally, as well as spiritually speaking and physically, but really from a mental driven exercise.</p>
<p>All of the other parts of life – the emotional, physical, spiritual, social, financial, nutritional – all of the others outside of the mental aspect of meditation, those are all effects of your mental focus on a mental exercise.</p>
<p><strong>First and foremost, let’s define it. Exactly, what the heck is meditation? It's mental exercise. What are we exercising? What muscle are we flexing, or massaging, activating or exploring, and learning about? What muscle? That is the muscle of “Relaxed Focus.”</strong></p>
<p>In and of itself the idea of Relaxed Focus is a spiritual practice, it's a mystery until you really start encountering her first hand through meditation.</p>
<p>If we are able to maintain a state of Relaxed Focus, then all those other areas of life – the physical, emotional, social, financial, environmental, etc. – are affected.</p>
<p><span style="color: #993366;"><strong>When you're getting started meditating, a great way to work with getting used to it&nbsp;is the Calm Down Breath.</strong> </span></p>
<p><strong>It's a simple mental exercise of inhaling the thought and intention “calm” and exhaling the thought and intention “down.” It’s that simple.</strong></p>
<p>As you're inhaling you're thinking the word “calm,” as you exhale you’re thinking the word “down.” Imagine that as you inhale, you can feel calm moving through your body, the idea, the image of what it would look like.</p>
<p>Then imagine that as you exhale, you can feel this “energy” moving down and releasing out of your body. Once you get used to imagining that, what you want to do is repeat this form of deep breathing for ten seconds.</p>
<p><strong>Try it now. You have ten seconds right now to practice breathing the Calm Down Breath... </strong></p>
<p><em>Did you feel that word and intention move through you?</em></p>
<p><em>Did you notice any shift in your energy or adjustment in your body?</em></p>
<p><em>Did you notice that your mind had to redirect?</em></p>
<p>Maybe you need&nbsp;to close your eyes so you could focus better on the sensations and imaginations.</p>
<p><strong>By the way, congratulations! You just meditated for ten seconds!</strong></p>
<p>It's that easy getting started. Your next step is that to increase the time or the temporal value you assign to meditate. You can go for ten seconds and next set your cell phone timer for 1, 3 then 5 minutes. You hit the timer and then it does the countdown, just close your eyes and continue thinking “calm down,” inhaling calm and exhaling down.</p>
<p><strong>The Calm Down Breath, just as a practice, a mental exercise can affect your physiology positively, the more temporal value you assign to it. </strong></p>
<p>It can affect other areas of your life too&nbsp;because your mindset is shifting and that is the power of meditation.</p>
<p>There is also another very simple technique to add on to The Calm Down Breath, that can supercharge your ability to focus and get more things done with less effort, help you tame your monkey mind in the moment, and turn down anxiety, stress and distracting thoughts.</p>

<p>Ugh. My heart sinks just typing that now.</p>
<p>I cannot tell you how many people I've met over the last few years I've been teaching about and sharing healing energy that have said the above statement to me, especially when I ask what they do for a living.</p>
<p><strong>My heart sinks because, well, that used to be me, too.</strong></p>
<p>So I'm going to be very candid right now. Here goes. xoxo</p>
<p>I remember what it was like dreading Monday morning every week, thinking about just turning the car around at the next jughandle on the way to work during my morning commute.</p>
<p>Worse yet, when it was really bad, I used to fantasize during my morning commute about driving my car into the divider on the highway just to see what would happen...</p>
<p><strong>For the record, if this is you right now, I just want to say I love you, I'm sending you big hugs now, and there's more for you in life than just the same ol' ratrace every day.</strong></p>
<p>Sparing you the expletives (I'm from Jersey, and we have colorful language here lol!), the job I was driving to at the time I would describe as a madhouse. My direct manager was a screamer and a bully, the hours were 10-12 hours a day, Monday - Friday, with a 1-hour commute (without traffic) one way.</p>
<p>Everyone was so anxious and depressed in the office. Lots of sneaking, gossiping and two-facedness.</p>
<p>In fact, I would hide&nbsp;in the bathroom just to pretend I was having a really long pee sometimes. Of course, my manager caught on to that and would run screaming my name into my department and bang on the bathroom door in front of all the 10 people I managed at the time...</p>
<p><strong>So, yeah, I understand a little of what it feels like to work in a toxic work environment.</strong></p>
<p>To cope (aka. NUMB myself), I would binge eat chocolate candies and cheeseburgers, drink Captain Morgan Private Stock rum and coke that I hid in my bedroom at home, and smoke black clove cigarettes or even e-cigars several times a day (especially while driving, <a href="https://www.cuvanaecigar.com">Cuvana is the best</a>). I also distracted myself even more with falling in "love" an emotionally and at times physically abusive boyfriend then...</p>
<p>Oh yes I went there. You can judge me if you want. I don't mind not being perfect. And no, I do not have it all figured out even as I type this Love Letter to you.</p>
<p>"Every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future," or so the saying goes. And you wonder why I say "you don't have to be perfect in life; all you ever have to be is honest." Well, now you have an idea why...</p>
<p>I'm just saying all this to let you know that I've experienced firsthand the powerful negative effects of what a toxic work (and life) environment can have on your self-esteem and health. So this week's topic is bigger than just making life more comfortable.</p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;"><strong>Having the gift of being sensitive can be a curse if you don't manage it well.<br />
</strong></span></p>
<p>You see, highly sensitive individuals like us need environments that support and protect our energy. But WE have to create these environments; they don't just appear.</p>
<p>Now, when you work at a job that has a lot of negative energy, you can do one of two things: you can just go there and get victimized, or you can go there and take charge.</p>
<p><strong>Either way, you'll absorb the dominant energy of your work environment by default.</strong></p>
<p>You already do; and you can see what that energy does to you by observing how you feel when you're there compared to how you feel outside of the workplace.</p>
<h3>Know this: <span style="color: #008080;">You&nbsp;are still a divine, creative, and spiritual being even when you're at work. Act like it. #selfcare #business #wakeup<br />
</span></h3>
<p>It all starts with your mindset about the workplace.</p>
<p>The common mindset is that if you're describing your work as "soul-crushing" then that's a big red flapping in your face that you need to improve your "work-life balance."</p>
<p>True, that is a big red flag that needs to be addressed.</p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;"><strong>But, there's no such thing as "work-life balance" -- there is only LIFE BALANCE.<br />
</strong></span></p>
<p>We don't stop living our own lives just because we're working for someone else (as an employee or an owner / entrepreneur).</p>
<p>You deserve to feel just as happy and healthy at work as you do at home. And in the video I give you some practical suggestions for things that can raise the vibration of a negative work environment.</p>

It is an internal alternative healing art for the cultivation and management of health and energy, similar to qigong and pranayama. The word "Reiki" in Japanese translates as "universal life-force energy."</div>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<div>A basic explanation of how Reiki works is this: the Reiki Practitioner's hands heat up and are then placed on or nearby specific areas on the client's body so that the heat--or energy--transfers into the body, thus relaxing it. However, Reiki energy heals and relaxes more than just the physical body. Many people have experienced profound emotional and spiritual healings from this holistic technique.</div>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<div>Reiki facilitates a person's process of Self expression by relaxing the body, clearing the mind &amp; spirit, and releasing any physical &amp; nonphysical energy blockages. The meditative state observed during a Reiki session encourages self-awareness and peace, thus allowing receivers to self-heal.</div>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<div>Practicing Reiki is the transfer of universal life-force energy between a channel (the Practitioner) and a receiver. As it is just energy transfer, Reiki requires no belief in any religious system at all; it does not even require that people believe in Reiki for it to work for them.</div>
<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p style="text-align: right;"><strong><span style="color: #800080;">There are million and one ways to describe Reiki </span></strong></p>
<p style="text-align: right;"><strong><span style="color: #800080;">to someone who's never heard of it.</span></strong></p>
<p>"Reiki is&nbsp;a form of natural energy healing or 'energywork'."</p>
<p>"Reiki is a spiritual healing art; it feels like an emotional and spiritual massage."</p>
<p><strong>"Reiki is 'universal life force energy' that promotes healing in the body."</strong></p>
<p>And still more versions.&nbsp;"Reiki is a form of 'palm&nbsp;healing' through the 'laying on of hands' and it is neither massage, prayer, yoga nor meditation." Or&nbsp;"Reiki is like qigong or pranayama. It's an ancient form of alternative healing rediscovered in Japan by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui in 1922 and he taught that zzzzzzzzzzzzz..."</p>
<p>And after you say all that to the person who just asked you a "simple question," the person looks at you like:</p>

<p>I've had the pleasure of this awkward moment quite a bit over the years! I've been asked the "what is Reiki?" question hundreds of times, from people of all walks of life who I meet at the fairs, festivals, seminars, speeches and classes I do.</p>
<p>This awkwardness is tough for both sides: I as the Reiki "Master" am garbled and confused, reaching for words to convey the value and power of Reiki to change someone's life, and the person listening is confused and straining to make sense of something completely new that their intuition is pulling them to faster than they can figure out what the heck it is.</p>
<p><strong>So, to avoid this awkward feeling, most energyworkers--myself included--often choose to&nbsp;avoid a definition, and instead go for a demonstration. But awkward moments are signals for imminent healing.</strong></p>
<p>To my energy people: look, I get it. You don't want to look stupid or unknowledgeable, so to&nbsp;avoid the rough spots and go with the&nbsp;<em>path of least resistance</em>, and&nbsp;either avoid defining what it is you do altogether, or you throw spaghetti on the wall and hope it will stick without regard to the other person because you "know" what you do, right?</p>
<p>Well... when you sidestep taking a good look at this issue, you miss out on gaining clarity for yourself. And clarity is healing.</p>
<p>You see, underneath this question of "what is Reiki?" and our struggle with answering it is this: a&nbsp;Throat Chakra imbalance.</p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;"><strong>Allowing awkward conversations shows that you have the courage to clear and balance any Throat Chakra issues you have.<br />
</strong></span></p>

<p>Throat Chakra issues include: issues with communication, listening and self-expression. When it's depleted, the symptoms are fear of speaking up and expression oneself for fear of criticism, rejection or "sticking out", and when it's excessive, the symptoms are talking to hear yourself talk but not listening, or talking for fear of silence or fear of unworthiness.</p>
<p>Defining what you do and communicating it clearly is a key step in your soul's evolution as an energyworker and lightworker in this lifetime, whether you do Reiki or something else as your healing modality (entrepreneurship, parenting, art, teaching, etc.).</p>
<p><strong>And when you find your light and shine it clear and bright, you give others permission to do the same.</strong></p>
<p>Consider how on the other side of the fence, it is very healing for the person seeking clarification to witness someone being clear and grounded. This, therefore, is exactly why speaking in and of itself if a form of healing energywork.</p>

<p>Remember: you do not have to be perfect, all you have to ever be is Honest.</p>
<p>Now, I notice that this article has ended up being more for the developing energy and lightwork practitioners, but what about the rest of us that don't know what the heck Reiki is? Are you going to tell us yet, Victoria??</p>
<p>Sure. Here goes:</p>

<p>You can shift your energy by taking responsibility for how you feel.</p>
<p>When I asked the Energy this week what do we need to know for our highest good I received an image of a hurricane, accompanied by the message "Be The Eye of The Storm."</p>
<p><strong>When you are feeling stressed out and overwhelmed at work or at home, it is because you have lost your Center.</strong></p>
<p>The eye of a hurricane is very calm, while hundreds of thunderstorms and millions of metric tons of water swirl around it for hundreds of miles.</p>
<p>How does this happen?</p>
<p>The spiritual teaching of the hurricane comes from how it is a vortex of organized chaos.</p>

<p><strong>With organization and focus.</strong></p>
<p>The anatomy of a hurricane is The Eye, The Eye Wall, and then The Thunderstorms.</p>
<p>The Eye of the storm is only peaceful because there is a clearly defined Eye Wall, which is created by <em>descending</em> air in the midst of hundreds of storms of violently <em>ascending or inflamed</em> air - so what does this mean for you?</p>
<h2 style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #008080;"><strong>Grounding and Centering yourself is the key. </strong></span></h2>
<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Being in a continuous state of Grounding establishes your calm energy as the Center from which your life grows.</strong></p>
<p>If you are constantly looking for the next fire to put out, or constantly trying to "save" everyone else around you, you lose the calm in the eye of the storm.</p>
<p>In this week's video, I take you through one very simple breathwork technique I developed for creating calm anywhere and being in a continuous state of Grounding --</p>

<p>It has a profound effect on your energy because when you take charge of how you feel, you create an inner calm that is unshakeable, regardless of what is going on around you.</p>
