Recipie: Spiced Banana Coconut Oatmeal

Spiced Banana Coconut Oatmeal

 

Makes: 2 servings / 10 min

 
 

Ingredients:

2 cups water (or coconut, almond or oat milk)
1 cup plain oats
2 Tbs coconut oil
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1 banana, browning

 
1. Bring oats and water to a rolling boil in a saucepan.

2. Reduce to medium heat. Add coconut oil, cinnamon, ginger and cayenne pepper. Cook for about 5 min.

3. Remove from heat. Add the banana and mix it in. Cover the saucepan. Allow to sit for 2-3 minutes.

4. Serve and eat immediately

 

Serving size = 1/2 cup

  1. I love making steel cut oats at home and my go to add ins have been sliced almonds, local honey, and some cinnamon. I saw this post and added a teaspoon of coconut oil this morning and it was even more delicious!! It added this wonderful creaminess without dairy. Loved it! Thank you for sharing.

  2. I am really loving the theme/design of your weblog. Do you ever run into any web browser compatibility issues?
    A number of my blog readers have complained about my website not operating correctly in Explorer but looks great in Safari.
    Do you have any ideas to help fix this problem?
