The title of this episode is Get Out from Behind Your Computer. Earlier today, I decided to make time to go and network. It’s a Thursday, and normally I don’t go out networking, but I saw some sister business owners who were out at a wellness panel locally, and although my client call would run a little bit into the beginning of the meeting, I felt "ah, I really want to show up and, you know, just support my sisters in business."
So, headed on up to Summit, New Jersey to the local women’s empowerment group meeting where they were presenting and I walked in just in time to hear everyone's intro's and elevator pitches. It was really wonderful just to get to hear every single woman’s story of what brought her into the room, what she is working on, what’s inspiring her.
And, there were actually a few other woman, who I got their business cards because we have got to collaborate together. I was so happy to get to be there, then also to go out to lunch afterward, and continue to deepen the relationships and continue the conversations that we began during the meeting.
So, that was refreshing and so, I had time this afternoon and rather than going back to my office or back to my home office to send some emails on my computer, I figured "I have a laptop - let's go out!" I felt the urge to continue to be out, so I went with it.
And then something magical happened...
